Leather Care Guide

Looked after properly, a real leather jacket lasts a lifetime and only looks better with age. Follow these simple steps to keep your OX AND ARMOUR leather supple, protected and beautiful for years to come.

Cleaning

Wipe your jacket regularly with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth to lift dust and light dirt. For marks, use a cloth barely dampened with lukewarm water — never soak the leather. Avoid household cleaners, solvents or wipes, which can strip the natural oils. Let any damp areas dry naturally, away from direct heat.

Conditioning

Leather is a natural material and needs occasional feeding to stay soft. Every few months, apply a small amount of quality leather conditioner or cream with a clean cloth, working it in gently with circular motions. This restores moisture, prevents cracking and deepens the natural patina. Always test on a small, hidden area first.

Rain & Weather

Light rain won't harm your jacket, but avoid heavy downpours where you can. If it does get wet, hang it on a wide, padded hanger and let it dry naturally at room temperature — never on a radiator. A leather protector spray adds a helpful water-resistant barrier for unpredictable British weather.

Storage

Store your jacket on a sturdy, wide hanger to keep its shape, in a cool, dry, well-ventilated spot. Avoid plastic covers, which trap moisture — use a breathable garment bag instead. Keep it out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.
